Islander started in 1990 as a shop looking after visitors to Bugibba, and that has never really changed. The cars came later. So did the transfers, the scooters, the vintage wedding fleet and the apartments.

Mobility scooter hire
Nobody sits out the good part.
A holiday should not shrink to the size of a hotel lobby. Our mobility scooters are straightforward to operate, comfortable over a long day, and delivered to wherever you are staying.
- Delivered and collected at your hotel or apartment across St. Paul's Bay, Qawra and Bugibba.
- Daily and weekly rates, with the longer hires working out considerably cheaper.
- Fully charged on arrival, with a walkthrough before we leave you to it.
- The Bugibba promenade, the square and the seafront are all flat and easy going.
Scooters & quad bikes
For the roads a car cannot be bothered with.
Coast roads, headlands and the tracks above Mellieħa. A scooter is the cheapest, most enjoyable way to cover short distances here; a quad turns a morning into an expedition.
Quad bikes
From a gentle cruise to something considerably more spirited. A standard B car licence is all you need, and riders must be 21 or over.
Helmets included
Safety is not an optional extra. Every hire comes with helmets at no charge, and we will make sure they actually fit before you set off.
Unlimited mileage, modest deposit
Ride as far as you like without watching a counter. The security deposit is held on the rider's credit card and released on return.

Vintage cars are rare here. We keep ours properly.
Genuine classics are an unusual sight on Maltese roads, which is precisely why they photograph so well. Ours are maintained, presentable and driven by a chauffeur who understands that the day is not about the car.

We sit in the middle of Bugibba's hotel district — the DB San Antonio, the DoubleTree by Hilton, the Santana, the Euroclub, the Ibis and a great many apartments are all within a short walk. It means we know the area properly.
